5 spacious bedrooms all en-suite
The beautiful Palazzo Danciano is an ancient quarter of the Pierle Valley in the Cortona area.
It sits in a commanding position amidst unspoiled countryside on the borders of Umbria and Tuscany, the perfect place to spend a totally relaxing holiday in the heart of this evocative landscape.
It is also an excellent base from which to venture out to discover the charming medieval cities renowned for their art and culture amidst the verdant green hills and forests, our local markets, music and theatrical festivals and gastronomic events.
Although it usually runs as a B&B, this charming palazzo is also available for rent as a villa in exclusivity. A perfect base to explore the countryside and delights of both Umbria and Tuscany, this villa is highly recommended. Every room in this palazzo, a restored ancient country house from the 1700's, has a lovely view.
The bedrooms
There are 5 large, comfortable bedrooms available as well as a beautiful apartment (with double bedroom, kitchen and sofa bed). The spacious bedrooms all look out on to the valley, are filled with light and are elegantly and tastefully decorated.
Natural pigments have been used in the frescoes and restful colours on the walls which put everyone in a good mood, and are conducive to sound sleep and sweet dreams (some say!).
Many original features showing the passage of time have been retained during the restoration of the property, the restoration achieved over many years of loving dedication.
The names of the bedrooms have taken their inspiration from the theatre and their subtle beauty will move you deeply; just like a play. Platea verde, Sipario bianco, Piccionaia, Le Quinte, Il Loggione, you can choose where to spend your holidays, however long, in one of these beautiful rooms, where your stay will transform into an unforgettable experience.
Platea Verde
On the first floor, this large room with en-suite bathroom has original terracotta flooring, walls of a delicate green shade and particularly interesting décor, from the blue alcove to the beautiful antique wardrobe, handpainted by the owners' Piedmontese grandfather. The shower room is marble lined. It is possible to add a third bed.
Sipario Bianco
On the second floor is a charming room with white painted wooden floor and walls of a stippled blue. A large rug, a 70's armchair and an old wardrobe complete the furnishings and create a magical atmosphere. It is possible to add a third and fourth bed.
Quinte
Also on the second floor, this small apartment welcomes you with the softness of its delicate colours from the blue and orange of the double bedroom (a real retreat) to the green of the kitchen. The owner, using recycled materials, has created a wonderfully functional kitchen where there is a double sofa bed as well with the possibility of adding a fourth bed making comfortable accommodation for up to four guests.
La Piccionaia
On the third floor, what was once the old servants' quarters is now a beautiful room in the loft under the eaves with white painted wooden beams. There is a large bathroom with an old cast iron bath, very romantic and full of light, and original terracotta flooring which all add to the authentic rustic feel of this room.
Loggione
This is a large room under the eaves, with white painted wooden beams and a breathtaking view. It has been restored in the oldest tower of the Terzo di Danciano and contains retro furniture from the 70's and a spacious bathroom with shower. It is possible to add a third or fourth bed.
Garden & Swimming Pool
A large lawn, a white mulberry bush, marine pine trees, pomegranates, olives, cherries and figs, plums, sage, lavender and laurel, lots of green space and a magnificent view await our guests. The swimming pool has been placed in a perfect position where it gets the sun until late evening. Romantic dinners or breakfast can be taken in the white, wooden gazebo on request. The pool is kept clean using eco-friendly methods, not chlorine, so having a dip is a reviving experience!
La Casina Rosa
Situated in the garden in the shade of a majestic Marine Pine tree nestles this well equipped kitchen with veranda. There is an old wood burning oven and a bathroom. A lovely large table and a sofa for siestas complete the relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere. Available for groups who rent the whole of the villa complex.
